David Raymond Carney or famously known as David Carney is an Australian professional Footballer. He currently plays as a midfielder and occasionally as a defender for Australian National Team and Australian soccer club, Sydney FC.
Apart from playing for several Australian football clubs, he has played for clubs like Oldham Athletic AFC, FC Halifax Town, Sheffield United FC, Blackpool FC, FC Twente, AD Alcoron, FC Bunyodhkor and New York Red Bulls.
He has represented Australia in their under 20 levels and made his senior debut in 2003. He too played at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2007 and 2011 AFC Asian Cup and 2010 FIFA World Cup.
David Carney was born on 30 November 1983 in Sydney, Australia, he holds an Australian nationality.
He attended Robert Townson Primary School in Campbelltown, New South Wales where he played soccer at its junior ranks.
Carney later moved to England and joined the youth and reserve side of Everton FC in 1999 where he played alongside, English striker, Wayne Rooney.
