Danny Carvajal began his career with the youth team of Saprissa in 2004. Later, he left the club after four years, He then played around a year for the youth team of Brujas.

Carvajal later made his debut for the Brujas F.C. on December 6, 2009, as a substitute player against A.D. Ramonense.  For the club, he played 14 matches until 2011 and was also the member of the team that won Liga FPD(2009-10).

On July 1, 2011, Carvajal signed a two years deal with AD San Carlos. He spent two seasons where he played 63 games. 

On July 1, 2013, Carvajal signed the deal with his former club, Saprissa on a free transfer while his market value was estimated to be €275 thousand.

Carvajal played 126 games before leaving the club in 2017.  Along with his team, Carvajal has been honored with Costa Rican Cup (2013).
