Daniel Cormier Denies Fighting Jon Jones In A Trilogy Match: ‘I’ve got a bigger fight with Brock Lesnar’ MMA

Daniel Cormier DC isn't seen so much into dealing with the return of Jon Bones Jones and has clearly said that he is more excited about the heavyweight title defense against Brock Lesnar than in fighting Jon Jones in a trilogy.

The Champ's champ Daniel Cormier is the current UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion and has some bad blood with the former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones for real. So, as soon as the 15-month USADA suspension news came out on behalf of JBJ's case, DC was the first one to react on it on Wednesday’s UFC Tonight. As per the USADA Bones can return to the UFC as soon as the calendar says its 28 of October, and DC couldn't be away from his former opponent's USADA suspension case as he has fought Jon twice and has two defeats to settle with Jon Jones.

Cormier in the show said that he would love to avenge his 2015 loss and 2017's knockout loss-turned-no contest, but he feels like with a big money fight lying around he will pick the Brock Lesnar fight over the trilogy with Jones.

Cormier in The UFC Tonight said:

“I’m the UFC double champion, right?“ I have bosses in the back, and I’m talking about this because I have to. I’ve moved past it. I went about my business, I went and won another title"

DC added:

“People get excited about the prospect of us fighting again, but I’ve got a fight with Brock Lesnar. Why would I look back? Why would I look back to Jones now when I’ve got a fight? Obviously, as a competitor, I want to fight the guy that has beaten me twice. But I’ve got a fight. This is a bigger fight. I’ve got a bigger fight with Brock Lesnar. Why should I go back?”

Jones received a 15-month suspension from USADA, the UFC’s anti-doping partner, on Wednesday. He will be eligible to return in time for November’s UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden but isn’t expected to compete at that event.

Jones was tested positive for an anabolic steroid called Turinabol and he was trying to convince the authority that he wasn't actually into it, knowingly. After a personally funded lie detection test, series of commitments to USADA and a lot of court hearings, he is all set to step into the octagon and it could be sooner than many expected, Jon Jones if found guilty, could have been out of the Octagon for around four years. Judges finally have passed the verdict that the substance entered Jon Jones system unknowingly via a contaminated supplement.

Jon Jones was the one who challenged Brock Lesner after defeating DC in DC Vs. Jones 2, but it turns out that DC will be fighting Brock in between this six months time.
