Junior

Dales Weise started off ice hockey playing with Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In his first WHL season, he recorded 18 points over 53 games. The following season, he boosted to 43 points over 67 games, is second in team scoring.

He played his last season with Broncos recording a WHL career-high 51 points over 53 games, listing 5th in team scoring.

Professional Career

New York Rangers

In the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Weise was picked 111th overall in the fourth round by New York Rangers. On 19th September 2008, he signed an entry-level contract with the team. The following week, he allocated to Rangers’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. On 11th October 2008, he made his professional debut against the Springfield Falcons. His first professional goal came on 11 days later against the Worcester Sharks.

For the start of 2009-10 season, he was again assigned but this time to the Wolf Pack. More, he ended the season boosting to 50 points over 73 games. On 4th April 2014, he received NHL call-up, but remained with Rangers until the end of the season, as well as didn’t dress in any games for them.

Further, he began 2010-11 season in the AHL once more for the Connecticut Whale which was previously Hartford Wolf Pack. He missed 18 games due to an injury and after returning to the line-up, he was recalled by the Rangers.

Weise made his NHL debut in a 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers. Then he was returned to the AHL after the game but received another stint with the Rangers.

On 27th June 2011, Weise was re-signed to a 1-year, two-way contract for a worth $605,000 in the NHL and $85,000 in the minors.

Vancouver Canucks

He joined Vancouver Canucks for the season opener. On 20th October 2011, he scored his first NHL goal in the 7th game with the Canucks.

In the 2012-13 NHL lockout, he played in the top level of hockey in the Netherlands, Eredivisie.

Montreal Canadiens

On 3rd February 2014, Weise was traded to the Montreal Canadiens, in exchange for Raphael Diaz. Four months later, was offered a two-year contract extension with Canadiens.

He recorded his first career NHL hat-trick in a 6-2 win against the Calgary Flames, in the final year of his contract.

Chicago Blackhawks

Weise was purchased by Chicago Blackhawks along with his fellow Thomas Fleischmann in exchange for Phillip Danault.
