A professional since 2016, she has earned various prestigious honors including “2017 Newcomer of the Year Award” from MMA Junkie as well as named one of the top 10 competitors in the UFC in 2017.

Though Calvillo was interested in athletics since her childhood, her parent didn’t have enough money to put her into organized sports. Hence, she developed toughness by playing in the street after school with her brother and neighbor.

Early Career

Calvillo made her amateur debut for the first time in 2012. Throughout her four years career, she amassed a 5-1 record which includes four championships and three finishes.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

In 2016, Calvillo made her professional debut, winning three pro victories in 5 months which includes two technical knockout finishes.

On 4th March 2017, she made her UFC debut against Amanda Cooper at UFC 209. She won the fight via submission (rear-naked choke), in a first round.

She next faced Pearl Gonzalez at UFC 210 on 8th April 2017. Again she smacked the victory in her second UFC fight via Submission (rear-naked choke).

On 16th July 2017, she fought against Joanne Calderwood in a strawweight bout at UFC Fight Night 113. Calvillo gained victory over Calderwood via a controversial unanimous decision.
