Crystal Dunn is an American soccer player for National Women’s Soccer League club North Carolina Courage and the U.S Women’s National Team. She won the NWSL Most Valuable Player and the Golden Boot Awards in 2015. She represented the United States as a member of the United States U-17, U-18, and U-20 national soccer teams.

Crystal was born on July 3, 1992, in New Hyde Park, New York, to Vincent and Rhonda Dunn. She was brought up in Rockville Centre, New York with her brother Henry. She attended South Side High School, where she started a forward and midfielder and team captain in 2008 and 2009.
Dunn scored a hat-trick in the first 20 minutes of the match during 2009 state championship match. She scored 46 goals and had 35 assists in her three high school seasons. She was an All-New York first team as a freshman, sophomore, and senior.
Dunn was named 2009 NSCAA, eSPNRise and Parade high school All-America and was the New York Gatorade High School Player of the Year. She played with the club teams, Albertson Fury, The RVC Tornadoes, and the RVC Power.
Dunn attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill majoring in Sociology. Dunn started 23 matches as a freshman in 2010 and played the full 90 minutes 18 times. During the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Championship she scored four goals including a match-winning against Jackson State.
She became the first freshman to ever win the ACC Defensive Player of the year award. Her performance made a semi-finalist for the 2010 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy.

Dunn started 19 matches as a freshman in 2011, missing only one while training with the United States under-20 Women’s national soccer team. She was also named the first-team All-ACC and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week three times.
During her junior season in 2012, while playing for the United States under-20 women’s national soccer team at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup she missed the non-conference phase of the 2012 college season. Dunn was named the 2013 Hermann Trophy winner as well as the ACC Athlete of the year and the ACC defender of the year. She was also awarded the 2012 Honda Award for Soccer.

In her senior season in 2013, Dunn scored the first hat-trick of her collegiate career defeating the Miami Hurricanes with 4-0. Dunn was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year, NSCAA All-American and first-team All-ACC for the fourth consecutive year.
Dunn was selected with the first overall pick in the 2014 College Draft for the 2014 season by the Washington Spirit in January 2014. Spirit finished fourth during the regular season with a 10-9-5 record securing a place in the playoffs. Although, they were defeated by Seattle Reign FC during the semi-final, with 2-1 on August 31 in Seattle.
Dunn returned to the spirit for the 2015 season. On April 26, 2015, she scored two goals against Sky Blue FC while playing defender helping Spirit win with 3-1.

On August 1, 2015, Dunn scored her first hat trick, in the spirit's victory over Huston Dash. She finished her season with six goals, earning her the league player of the month award.
Dunn finished the season with the 2015 NWSL Golden Boot and the league's most valuable player award. She returned for her third season in 2016 and scored four goals and a career-high five assists.
Dunn joined FA WSL 1 club, Chelsea, on January 3, 2017. On March 19, within 12 minutes she scored her first goal for the club in a 7-0 Fa Cup win over Doncaster.
Dunn was signed back by Chelsea in January 2017, this was confirmed by the Chelsea on February 25, 2018. She made her first appearance for North Carolina Courage in a 1-0 win over Portland Thorns FC, which was also the opening game of the 2018 NWSL season.
From 2008 to 2012 Dunn has competed on the behalf of the United States in various national youth teams. She is one of the leaders in the number of caps played in the U.S. Under-20 teams. She was also in the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Germany and also was a member of the team that won the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan.
Dunn received her first call-up to the senior team's training camp on January 22, 2013, by coach Tom Sermanni. She made her debut for the team, against Scotland's national women’s football team in February in a friendly match and was placed on the roster for the 2013 Algarve Cup.
On March 6, 2013, against Iceland Dunn made her first Algarve Cup appearance for the senior team during the team’s first match in the tournament.
Dunn was named to the 2015 Algarve Cup roster in February although it did not play a single minute. Dunn became the first player not on the World Cup roster to join the national team’s Women’s World Cup victory tour.
Dunn played in the national team’s opening game of the CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Championship scoring her fifth international goal in the 5-0 victory over Costa Rica.
