Courtney Gettins is currently the Graduate Assitant Coach for the Jacksonville Dolphins Softball team. She Played for the Alabama Crimson Tide softball team in NCAA Division I in 2018 & 2019. She recently joined the Jacksonville Dolphins after graduating from the University of Alabama after Majoring in psychology. She was a Member of the New Zealand U-19 who participate in two Junior Women's World Series. Kiwi also played for New Zeland, Women's Senior softball team in two Senior Women's World Championships. 

Gettins was born on September 25, 1996, to Kevin and Charmaine Gettins in Hastings, New Zealand. Her father Kevin was the softball coach while she attended Iona College in New Zealand. She moved to Florida Southwestern College on a scholarship in 2016. The 23-year-old has two siblings, Mel Gettins, who also plays for the New Zeland Womens softball National team and brother Josh Gettins.

After she moved to the University of Alabama for her Junior and Senior year. Her Performance as the player of   Alabama Alabama Crimson Tide Softball team at NCCA Division I, was prolific which can be recognized by the following stats on the table:

 

Junior (2018)
  • Posted a 14-5 record and 2.48 ERA over 26 appearances, including 18 starts
  • Pitched a five-inning no-hitter in her debut for Crimson Tide against Lamar (February 9), becoming the first pitcher in Alabama history to throw a no-hitter in their debut
  • Tossed a complete-game victory in the run-rule win over 24th-ranked McNeese (February 17), allowing just one run on three hits
  • Pitched 5.0 shutout innings in the start against UAB (February 27) to earn the win
  • Earned a win in relief against BYU (March 2), throwing 6.0 innings
  • Didn't allow an earned run over 11.0 innings pitched at the Easton Crimson Classic, defeating Fordham (March 9) and Samford (March 11)
  • Took the tough-luck loss in game three at Auburn (March 18), entering in relief of injured pitcher Alexis Osorio and shutting the Tigers out until a two-run comeback in the seventh inning
  • Earned a win in relief against UAB (March 20)
  • Threw two complete-game victories against Ole Miss in games one (March 23) and three (March 25), allowing just three runs over 12.0 innings pitched

  •  Consecutive game start against SIUE (March 14) and Niagara (March 15), earning wins in both
  • Pitched a complete-game victory in the second contest against Mississippi State (March 30), holding the Bulldogs to two runs, one earned, with four strikeouts and one walk
  • Pitched 5.0 shut out innings in the start vs. Belmont (April 23) to earn the win.

Following her impressive college and University playing career, she opted for a coaching career at the Jacksonville University Softball team at the age of 23. She could have continued as a softball player, but she is happy to pursue her coaching career now.

Although Cortney is just 23-year-old, she seems to be too focused on her career rather than other things currently. She is busy getting involved with her coaching work and enjoying her life single.
