Conor Sheary's Bio and Early Life

Conor Shery was born on 8th of June 1992, in Winchester, Massachusetts, United States, to Kevin and Robin Shearly. His star sign is Gemini. By nationality, he is an American and is of white ethnicity. He has two sisters, Caitlin and Courtney.

Sheary enrolled at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts where he initially started off his hockey career.

Conor Sheary's Playing career

Amateur

Upon graduation, Sheary attended the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and joined UMass Minutemen ice hockey team. During his senior year, he played in all 34 games leading the team in points with 28 on nine goals and a squad-best 19 assists. His college career highs include 2 Goals – against Cornell, 3 Assists, and 3 Points.

Professional Career

After going undrafted, Sheary was signed by Pittsburg Penguins. Further, he made his professional hockey career debut with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL at the tail end of the 2013–14 season, and stayed with the club into the post-season to produce 11 points in 15 games.

On 1st July 2015, Sheary was signed to a two-year entry-level contract with the NHL affiliate of Wilkes-Barre, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

On 15th December 2015, he was recalled from the AHL to the Pittsburgh Penguins, making his NHL debut the next day in a 3–0 loss against the Boston Bruins. His first NHL goal came on 18th December 2015, on goaltender Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins and also registered his first NHL assist in the same game.

On 13th March 2016, Sheary scored two goals against the New York Rangers against goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and recorded his first multi-goal game. He then recorded his first career playoff goal on 21st April 2016.

On 1st June 2016, Sheary scored the game-winner, in overtime, to win over the San Jose Sharks 2–1 in the Stanley Cup Finals. On 12th June 2016, he won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in a 3–1 victory against the San Jose Sharks.

During the 2016–17 NHL season, Sheary continued to play alongside Sidney Crosby for the whole year, scoring 23 goals with 30 assists and 53 points. He got his first 3-point game on 16th January 2017, against the Washington Capitals leading the Penguins to win 8–7 in overtime. The  Penguins later went on to win the Stanley Cup, giving Sheary his second Stanley Cup title.

On 30th July 2017, Sheary re-signed a three-year  $9 million contract worth $3 million annually with Penguins.

While at Penguins, he played alongside Olli Maatta, Jake Guentzel, and Evgeni Malkin

He was with the Penguins when they won the Stanley Cup in 2016 as well as 2017. 

On June 27, 2018, Sheary was traded to the Buffalo Sabres along with teammate Matt Hunwick, for a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
