Conor McGregor vs Donald Cerrone In Jeopardy, After UFC Tries To Make it A Co-Main Event MMA

Joe Rogan gives insight on Conor McGregor’s next UFC bout with Donald Cerrone AKA Cowboy!

UFC president Dana White recently made an unpleasant announcement regarding the UFC's poster boy Conor McGregor's possible octagon return after his current title loss against the Dagistani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov

Dana White recently has said that the proposed Conor McGregor vs Cowboy Cerrone fight is “nowhere close” to actually happening. Joe Rogan recently discussed more details on what he's been hearing about the agreements, saying one of the impediments was indeed the card placement.

Prior to this, Rogan in his podcast two weeks ago had said that Conor Vs Cowboy was a done deal!
Take a look at the podcast:

But recently, Joe Rogan on his podcast said:

“They were trying to do ‘Cowboy’ versus Conor and apparently the sticking point was that it was going to be a co-main event, and think the idea is to have world titles as major pay per view event."

He added:

“I think he’s only interested in big fights,” Rogan said. “Like things that excite him now because he’s got so much money and so much success. It’s just one of those things.”

Let's take a look at the video:

Without Khabib, McGregor would definitely be the largest draw on the card, regardless of simply adding almost any other title bout to the event that's happening. Without a championship bout headlining it, UFC even had multiple pay-per-views, most notably, when McGregor fought Nate Diaz in a different weight class without any problem exceeding expectations and breaking the PPV records.

There can be million other clauses but Conor McGregor won't drop down to a co-main event and fight Cowboy as he is the one who brings the most PPV buys and fans to the stadium but the Irishman as the world's leading sports figure will not headline as a co-main event and in a way it's right for McGregor's image!
