Conor McGregor's “I accept” tweet was response to Khamzat Chimaev call-out, Dana White Claims

Dana White recently revealed that Conor McGregor’s "I accept" tweet was targeted to Khamzat Chimaev's call-out. White was asked at a media scrum in Las Vegas on Friday about the announcement, and he clarified that McGregor's tweet was a reaction to Chimaev calling out several well-known UFC fighters.

The Chechen Swedish fighter was one of the biggest names on ‘Fight Island’. He made his UFC debut on July 16 and won 2 fights in 10 days. He had the most dominating performance as he landed a total of 192 strikes and taking just two- claiming both victories first in the middleweight division, and the second at welterweight.

Chimaev (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who started his MMA career in 2018 called out several UFC stars after the victories and said, “I’m going to smash everybody." White also praised the rising fighter and said:

“Khamzat. I mean, you know? The guy is so dominant, so confident, wants to continue to fight every weekend. I love it. I love guys with that mentality. I love how talented this guy is. We threw the hottest prospect out of the U.K. at him and that kid is a badass. [Rhys McKee is a] legit great fighter. (Chimaev) made it look like he didn’t belong there.”

Nicknamed as Borz, Khamzat called out Conor McGregor and told that he traveled to Ireland years ago to “beat up” the Irishman. He said:

“True story I flew to Ireland before Khabib fight to beat up Conor McGregor for what he said about our honor but they would not let me in the country,” he tweeted. “You need big security @TheNotoriousMMA, weak man.”

Conor recently made a tweet writing "I accept" but did not provide any details about the post. The UFC president talked about Conor's tweet and revealed that it was targeted for Khamzat.

 

 

“Yeah, that was Khamzat. Khamzat posted, ‘I want Nate Diaz, Masvidal, or McGregor. And McGregor said. ‘I accept.’ That’s what that was.”

However, The Irish fighter later denied the claims in an interview with ESPN. So, What was the tweet actually for?
