Cody Garrett Runnels or famously known as Cody Rhodes is an American professional wrestler who currently competes for America wrestling promotion, Ring of Honor as well as appeared in Japan wrestling promotion, New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Cody Rhodes' Bio and Early Career

Cody Rhodes holds an American nationality. He was born to wrestling legend, Dusty Rhodes and his second wife, Michelle Rubio on June 30, 1985, in Marietta, Georgia, USA.

He comes from a  wrestling family as he is half-brother to Goldust and two other sisters, Teil Gergel and Kristin Ditto who were the Cheerleaders of National Football League team, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

Cody Rhodes’ Career

After attending Lassiter High School and winning the Georgia state championship twice, he began his official wrestling with WWE developmental terriority system, Ohio Valley Wrestling in the summer of 2006.

He was highly successful in OVW as he became it’s Triple Crown Championship( OVW Heavyweight Championship, Television Championship and OVW Southern Tag Team Championships)

Rhodes later made his debut on television by using his own real name, Cody Rhodes, in a backstage segment with Dusty Rhodes and Randy Orton and made his WWE debut against Randy Orton in losing effort.

He later formed a team with Hardcore Holly and won the Raw tag team championship from Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch on December 10, 2007 episode of Raw.

The title was his first in WWE and went on to win several tag team championships with wrestlers such as Drew Mcintyre, Ted DiBiase Jr. as well as his half-brother, Goldust.

After leaving the WWE in 2016, he joined several wrestling independent circuit and went on to win against wrestling legend, Kurt Angle in a steel cage match in the Northeast Wrestling.

He later signed with another American wrestling promotion, Total Nonstop Action in 2016 and is currently performing for ROH as well as New Japan Pro Wrestling.
