Clippers traded Sam Dekker to the Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired forward Sam Dekker from the Los Angeles Clippers and will receive the draft rights to Vladimir Veremeenko to the Clippers. Additionally, Cavs will also have the draft rights to shooting guard Renaldas Seibutis and cash considerations from the Clippers.

The move is likely to offer more playing time for Dekker with Cavs who are trying to improve their roster following the exit of their star player LeBron James.

Dekker was picked 18th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 2015 NBA Draft. He played only 4 post season matches with Rockets averaging 2.3 points and 2.5 rebounds.

He will earn $1.25 million this season and which is the difference between Dekker’s $2.76M salary and the $1.51M veteran’s minimum.

Dekker played earlier two seasons for Rocket and moved to Los Angeles last June in the Chris Paul trade. He will be restricted free-agent next summer.
