Chris Paul was born as Christopher Emmanuel Paul on May 6, 1985, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. His parents are Robin Paul and Charles Paul.  He has an older brother named Charles "C.J." Paul. His father taught Paul basketball. Paul used to play in youth leagues before he started his senior career. He used to spend his summers at the service station of his grandfather.

Paul attended West Forsyth High School in Clemmons. He played for junior teams in his freshman and sophomore years in high school. His average is 25 points, 5.3 assists and 4.4 steals in his junior year at West Forsyth High School. After finishing his high school, Paul joined Wake Forest University in 2003.

In his freshman year, his average was 14.8 points, 5.9 assists, and 2.5 steals per game for them. In his second year with them (2004-2005) his average point is 5.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 2.7 steals per game, playing 32 matches.

His wonderful time with Wake Forest University came to an end in 2005. In the NBA draft of 2005, Paul was selected 4th overall by New Orleans Hornets. He made a noticeable impact in his first season with Hornets, due to which he was named Rookie of the Year 2005.

In 2007, Paul scored an average of 21.1 points, 11.6 assists and 2.7 steals per game, helping his team Hornets to finish the season with record 56 wins. Paul extended his contract with Hornets in 2008. Paul created up controversy in the 2009-2010 season as he was dissatisfied with Hornets, as the team coach Byron Scott was sacked.

Paul tore his cartilage in his left knee in the same season. Paul had another injury in the 2010-2011 season after he collided with Ramon Sessions and suffered a concussion. He finished that season with average of 22 points, 6.7 rebounds, 11.5 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.

On December 12, 2011, Paul was traded to Los Angeles Clippers. He finished his first season with the Clippers, averaging 19.8 points, 9.1 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Paul extended his contract with clippers in 2013. It was a deal approximately worth $107 million. He helped his team Los Angeles Clippers to achieve a record of 57 wins in that season.

Paul played all 82 season games in a 2014-2015 season with the Clippers, averaging 19.1 points and 10.2 assists per game. Paul represents his country USA on an international level. He is a good friend of fellow NBA player Kevin Durant and Kyle Kuzma.
