Chase Daniel was undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft but was signed by the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent. His stay at the team was short-lived as he was waived during the final roster cuts on September 5, 2009. The New Orleans Saints signed Daniel to their practice squad. a day later

Daniel was a member of the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl XLIV Championship team. For the 2010, 2011, and 2012 seasons he served as the primary backup of Drew Brees. William Chase Daniel was born on October 7, 1986, in Irving, Texas, and is the son of Bill and Vickie Daniel. He was a student at Carroll High School in Southlake, Texas, where he played football for the team. His team won the 5A Division II State title in 2002 and 2004.

Daniel enrolled at the University of Missouri and continued to play football at the collegiate level. He started as a primary backup quarterback for Brad Smith in 2005 and took the starter position the following season.
