Celso Borges is a Costa Rican professional footballer playing for Liga FPD club Alajuelense and the Costa Rica national team. The professional footballer wears jersey number 32 and plays the midfield position. Promoesport represents him.

Borges started his career by joining Saprissa U-17. After playing for a year, he began playing for a senior team on January 1, 2006, and made his debut on January 15, 2006. For the team, He scored seven goals in 86 appearances until 2009. Borges was a team member that won 5x Primera Division de Costa Rica (2005-2008).

On January 1, 2009, Borges moved to Fredrikstad for a transfer fee of £113 thousand. He left the club after three years making 76 appearances and scoring 29 goals until 2012. Borges then signed a three-year deal with Alk Stockholm on a free transfer and received the number 10 Jersey, which Martin Kayongo-Mutumba last wore.

He made his official debut for the team against Mjallby Alf on April 1, 2012. He later scored his first and winning goal against Kalmar FF. In his first half-season, he played as a forward under the manager Andreas Alm. On January 14, 2015, Borges had a spell on loan at Deportivo La Coruna the 2015 season, making 17 appearances, before returning to Alk with three goals, where he became a regular starter last term.

On July 1, 2015, Borges was transferred to Deportivo La Coruna. He extended his contract with the team in 2016, keeping him until June 30, 2019. After making 20 game appearances for the team, he moved to play with Alajuelense in August 2021.

Borges's Career at the National Team

Borges made his international debut with the Costa Rica U-17, scoring 1 goal in 4 appearances.
