Baker played college football at the University of Washington where he was named a Freshman All-American by the USA today and was also named All-Pac-12.
Bishard Baker was born on Januar 10, 1996 in Bellevue, Washington. His mother Michelle Baker thought that he looked like a Buddha doll when he was a baby as such she started calling him Budda which is where his famous name Budda Baker comes from. He joined the Bellevue High School where he played safety and running back for the football club. He was named the Seattle Times High School Athlete of the Year during his senior year.
After high school, Baker attended the University of Washington where he played collegiate jersey football. He started in all 14 games of the 2014 season as a true freshman for Washington. He ended the season with a record of 80 tackles, one interception, and one sack. He was named a Freshman All-American by USA Today. In his Sophomore years, he started in 12 of 13 games and was named All-Pac-12 after the record of 49 tackles and two interceptions.
Budda Baker forwent his senior years at college and entered the 2018 NFL Draft. He was picked by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round as 36th overall. Baker signed a four-year, $6.83 million contract with $3.88 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $3.10 million with the Cardinals on May 25. Due to NFL rules, Baker was unable to attend OTA's or minicamp until his graduation. He was named the back up free safety to Tyrann Mathieu for the regular season.

At the start of 2018, Arizona Cardinals' head coach Bruce Arians announced retirement and Steve Wilks was announced as the new head coach of the team. With new changes, a competition brewed between Budda Baker and Tre Boston for the position of starting strong safety. Wilks chose Baker to be the starting safety alongside free safety Antoine Bethea.

Baker's season his for the 2018 season has been in week 5 here he collected 16 combined tackles (11 solos), deflected a pass, and made a sack during the 28-18 win at the San Francisco 49ers.
