Brian Roberts is an American former professional baseball second baseman. He played in MLB for more than a decade. He is the two times All-Star and AL stolen base co-champion. He made his professional debut in the Major Baseball League in 2001 with the Baltimore Orioles. He served in the team for more than a decade long but in 2013, he switched to New York Yankees and announced his retirement in 2014. He has 97 home runs, .276 batting average and 542 runs batted recorded under his name in the MLB. He is recognized as one of the quality players in MLB from Orioles.
Brian Roberts was born in North Carolina, United States in the year 1977 October 9 to father Mike and mother Nancy Roberts. He was raised in Chapel Hill and had attended the school there. He got graduated from Chapel Hill High School. When was 5, he went through the open heart surgery. The surgery was to repair an atrial septal defect in him. He fancied baseball since his early age and played baseball in his school and high school too. After enrolling at University of North Carolina, he was in the college baseball team called North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team. He was named as the best defensive college player by Baseball America. In 1999, Brian got picked in the MLB draft by the Orioles. He played initially in the minor leagues from the Orioles. With the experience and more maturity in game performance, he made his debut in the major league in 2001 from the same club Baltimore Orioles. He spent 13 years of professional career with Baltimore Orioles and switched to New York Yankees in 2013, from where he played his last season and announced his retirement stating that he felt he could not play well.
