After 172 regular season NBA games and more than two NBA seasons, Ben Simmons has achieved something the basketball and his fans might not have thought of.
A three-pointer.
In Wednesday's game against New York Knicks, Simmons knocked down his first three-point shot from the corner in front of Philadelphia's bench taking a pass from Philadelphia's forward Furkan Korkmaz.
His historic achievement was cheered by everyone in the Wells Fargo Center crowd and even the NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcaster Marc Zumoff, who shouted:

“Yes! He did it! Ben Simmons!”
It took 172 NBA games and more than 2 seasons for the 2016 NBA top pick to get his first career three-pointer. During this, he attempted 18 times from outside the arc while he was 0-11 from the downtown in his Rookie year.
The 2019 NBA All-Star has so far made only one attempt in 22 career playoff games but did hit in the preseason game against the Guangzhou Loong Lions of the Chinese Basketball Association.
"It feels good to put work in in the summer and it pays off."
Simmons said after the game.
He finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, and 13 assists.
