Anthony Lopes is a French-born Portuguese international who plays as a goalkeeper for Portugal National Football Team and for the French top tier, Olympique Lyonnais wearing no. 1 jersey shirt. Anthony Lopes started at youth rank of the French club, Olympique Lyonnais in 2000 and its reserve team in 2008.

Anthony Lopes made his first professional debut against OGC Nice on 31 October 2012. Similarly, he made his debut match in the UEFA Europa League against Israeli football club, Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona FC on December 2012.

He made his French Ligue 1 debut against AS Saint Etienne on 28 April 2013 and was the first choice goalkeeper for the French team during the season.

The Portuguese international goalkeeper met with an unfortunate incident when he was hit by a firecracker thrown by some spectator at the stand. The incident took place during a league against FC Metz on December 3, 2016. He also had a horrible collision with Kylian Mbappe during the match against SPG.

Even though Anthony was born and raised in France, yet he decided to play for Portugal instead of the French national team. His father who was a Portuguese by birth helped him to play for Portuguese national side calling on to Portuguese Football Federation to know of this fact.

He played in U-17, U019, and U-21 before he made his debut for the Portuguese national team against African nation Cape Verde on 31 March 2015.
