Andre Agassi is an American retired professional tennis player. He is also one of the world's most dominating player from early 1990s to the mid-2000s. During his career, he has won the Grand Slam champion for eight times. Moreover, he is the gold medalist of 1996 Olympic. He is the first male player to win all four Grand Slam tournaments on three different surfaces(hard, clay and grass). He retired from his professional career on September 3, 2006, due to a spondylolisthesis and a bone spur that interfered with the nerve.
Andre was born on April 29, 1970, in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. His parents are Emmanuel "Mike" Agassi and Elizabeth "Betty" Agassi. His father is a former Olympic boxer from Iran. He grew along with his siblings Rita, Philip, and Tami. Since his childhood his father made him play tennis.
He joined Nick Bollettieri's Tennis Academy in Florida at the age of 13. He was admitted to the Academy only for 3 months because his father could afford only for it. But looking at Andre's game, Bollettieri called Mike and returned the cheque telling that his son had an extra talent. Andre left his school in the ninth grade.
Andre started his professional career at the age of 16. He completed his first tournament at La Quinta, California. During the tournament, he won his first match against John Austin, but he lost the second match against Mats Wilander. For the first time, he won the first top-level singles title in 1987 at the Sul American Open in Itaparica. In 1988 he won six additional tournaments and he got $1 million prizes in December of the same year. Moreover, he set the open-era record for most consecutive victories by a male teenager for 17 years.
Late in 2005, Rafael Nadal broke the record. He played the French Open as well as US Open in 1988 but he was able to reach only up to semifinals. For the first time, he reached the Grand Slam final in 1990 at the French Open and got defeated with Andrés Gómez. Andre reached his second Grand Slam final in US Open. He helped the US to win their first Davis Cup after 8 years. As well as he also won the Tennis Masters Cup defeating Stefan Edberg in the final. For the second time, he reached the French Open final in 1991.
In 1992, he got a name called BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year. In the same year, his team won the Davis Cup. In 1993, he won double titles Cincinnati Masters along with his partner Petr Korda. He became the first unseeded player of US after winning the US Open final. In 1995, he won three Masters Series events. And also reached to the World's no.1 ranking in April 1995. He scored his highest point in the Olympic Games in Atlanta and won the gold medal.
In 1977 his performance decreased because of his marriage with actress Brooke Shields. He became the runner-up at the Masters Series tournament in Key Biscayne. In 1999 he won the US Open final defeating Todd Martin in five sets. He became the first male player to reach the four consecutive Grand Slam finals. In 2001, he won the Australian Open. Furthermore, he with the eighth Grand Slam title in 2003 at Australian Open. Later on April 2003, he again became the World no. 1 player after winning the Queen's Club Championships.
In 2004, he won the Masters series event in Cincinnati. Due to the injury, he lost many tournaments in 2005 and didn't,t reach the finals in most of the games. He was defeated by Rafael Nadal in the final of the Rogers Cup. Furthermore, he didn't play well in his 2006 tournament due to the injury. So he left his profession as a player on September 3, 2006. Besides his playing career, he also served as a coach. From 1970-83 he worked as a coach of Emmanuel Agassi, from 1983-93 of Nick Bollettieri. Moreover, from 1994–2002 he served for Brad Gilbert. As well as he worked as a coach for Darren Cahill from 2002–2006.

Regarding his personal life, Andre dated an American actress Barbra Streisand in early 1990s. But they weren't able to continue their relationship. On 19 April 1997, Andre married Brooke Shields. But later on,9 April 1999, they got separated. After the divorce with his wife Brooke, Andre again married Steffi Graf on October 22, 2001, at their Las Vegas home.
They are happily enjoying their married life. These couples have two children. They welcomed their first son, Jaden Gil on 2001 and their daughter, Jaz Elle on 2003.
