Anderson Santamaria Bardales, a.k.a. Anderson Santamaria is a Peruvian international footballer who plays for the Peru national team as well as for Puebla, as a central defender. The young talent made his football career debut in 2010 with Ayacucho and went on to play for Leon de Huanuco (2013-15), and Melgar (2016-17).

 

For his national side, he has earned seven caps till the date and also Santamaria is a contender for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

In August 2010, Santamaria made his professional as well as his first-team debut in the containment flyer with Marco Ruiz. The following year, he compiled 21 game appearances and managed to qualify for the 2012 Copa Sudamericana.  

Leon de Huanuco

In 2013, he switched to Leon de Huanuco. He remained two seasons at the club, scoring 13 goals in 74 matches.

FCB Melgar

In 2016, Santamaria signed to Melgar and went on to play the Copa Libertadores where his side finished in the group stage. Further, he participated in 4 out of 6 matches, and his best result was the win over CS Emeleb by 1-0. In addition, his team finished sub-championship of the 2016 Decentralized Championship.

Club Puebla

On 20th December 2017, he signed for Liga MX side Puebla. Upon his arrival, he was assigned the shirt No. 26. 

Anderson Santamaria's International career

In June 2017, Santamaria made his international debut for the Peru national team in a friendly match against Jamaica, where he entered replacing Alberto Rodriguez at the staring of the second time. In his debut year, he represented his side in two games.

In May 2018, his name was included in Peru’s provisional 24 man team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup along with his teammates Carlos Caceda, Christian Ramos, and Pedro Aquino.
