Alireza Jahanbakhsh played for Payam Alborz Qazvin, Persian Qazvin, and Damash Gilan during his youth career. On July 1, 2010, Jahanbakhsh was promoted to the first team of Damash from Damash U19. For the team, he played 12 matches. Alireza Jahanbakhsh was sent to Damash Gilan on July 1, 2011, on a free transfer and made his debut against Mes, Iran Pro League and became one of Dimash's Youngest ever players.
Jahanbakshsh scored his first goal in January 2012 in a 1-0 win over Fajr. Before leaving the club, he scored ten goals in 44 appearances. On July 1, 2013, Jahanbakhsh moved to NEC Nijmegen with the transfer fee of €250 thousand on a three-year deal and made his debut against RKC Waalwijk.
