Augustin Marchesin is an Argentine professional footballer who plays the position of goalkeeper. He is currently in the roster of Mexican club America and also represents Argentina national team in international events.

 

In the 2009 Toulon Tournament, he was the starting goalkeeper for the U21 Argentine national team. He was called up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification matches against Peu and Ecuador.

Agustín Federico Marchesín was born on 16 March 1988 in San Cayetano, Argentina. He was born to father Pablo Marchesín and mother Pachi Rios. Details of his educational background have not been discovered.

Agustin Marchesin's Professional Life

Agustin Marchesin's professional career as a footballer began with him being signed by Club Atletico Lanus in 2007. Prior to his contract with Lanus, he was playing for the regional club of Huracan de Tres Arroyos. Lanus squad won the 2007 Apertura tournament during which Marchesin was not a playing member for the team.

Marchesin made his first competitive debut on March 1, 2009. Though he started as a backup goalkeeper, he soon took the spot of Mauricio Caranta as the first-choice goalkeeper. He was able to win the Copa Sudamericana with Lanus in 2013.

Agustin Marchesin along with teammate Diego Gonzalez was sold to the Mexican team Santos Laguna in 2013 in replacement for the retiring goalkeeper Oswaldo Sanchez. On his first season with Laguna, he won the 2015 Clausura and 2015 Campeon de Campeones Cup.

Santos Laguna announced to have sold Marchesin to Club America on December 2, 2016. He continues to play as the goalkeeper of Club America today. On September 30, 2017, he made his 100th league appearance in Mexico.

Marchesin has also been the squad member to represent Argentina in international matches. His first international experience was as the starting goalkeeper for the U21 Argentine national team during the 2009 Toulon Tournament. The team was only able to achieve a third place win in the competition.

For the senior national team of Argentine, he was called upon 20 August 2010. HIs first cap came on 16 March 2011, as a substitute in the friendly match against Venezuela. As Mariano Andujar suffered from a hand injury midway through the 2015 Copa America, Marchesin was called up in his place. Marchesin played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification match against Peru and Ecuador.

Agustin Marchesin married to his girlfriend Sol Ochandio. The married couple has a son together who was born on October 10, 2017. He is still married to his wife and the couple is living together as well. There are no rumors or news of his past love affairs.
