Abraham Benjamin de Villiers or famously known as AB de Villers is retired South African professional cricket player who plays right-handed batsmen and occasionally as a wicketkeeper.

 

Considered as one of the best batsmen of his generation, he holds several batting records such as fastest one day 50,100, 150, the fastest test century by a South Africa and quickest Twenty 20. He has also led the South African team and officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on 23 May 2018.

AB de Villers’s Early Career

AB de Villiers is of South African nationality. He was born on 17 February 1984 in Warmbad, Transvaal Province, South Africa. He did his schooling with current South African cricket captain, Faf du Plessis in Pretoria and later went to renowned South African school, Afrikaanse Hoer Seunskool.

His father was a doctor and de Villiers was highly interested in playing cricket since his early childhood days. He played club cricket for South Africa for teams such as Northern and Titans.

His IPL per season is estimated to be around $2 million and his personal assets are around $6 million. He has a house in Durban that had a cost price of $3 million and has a fleet of luxurious car collection like  Audi and BMV. AB de Villers’s International Career

He made his Test debut for South Africa against England, Port Elizabeth and made his first test century against England in January 2005. De Villiers made his one-day international debut against England on February 2, 2005, and scored his first ODI hundred against West Indies in 2007 Cricket World Cup on  10 April 2007.

He was honored with being the three-time ICC ODI Player in 2010, 2014 and 2015. Devillers is currently playing for Twenty 20 teams such as Royal Challengers Bangalore and  Barbados Trident.

AB de Villers’s Personal Life

He follows Christianity and is also a known guitarist and a singer, He along with his friend, Ampie du Preez, a bilingual pop album, Maak Jou Drome Waar. De Villiers admitted that he is a big fan of  Manchester United since Ryan Giggs made his debut for Man United and has cited Lionel Messi as his favorite player.

Talking about his personal life, he is happily married to his spouse, Danielle Swart. He tied his wedding knottin Bela Bela, South Africa in March 2013. He proposed to her at Taj Mahal in 2012 after 5 years of relationship. The couple is blessed with two boys.

The eldest son name is Abraham Benjamin born in 2015 and the second one name is John Richard born in 2017. The family of AB de Villers is currently enjoying a happy and blissful life.
