Moses Malone was a professional basketball player who was active in the NBA from 1974 to 1995. He was known for his dominant play in the paint and was a dominant force in the league for many years. Malone was a three-time NBA MVP and a 13-time All-Star.

ABA-NBA merger after the 1975-1976 season resulted in players exchange, but Malone was already selected by New Orleans Jazz in December 1975 before the merger went through.

However, New Orleans Jazz exchanged Malone in a player exchange and sent him to Portland Trail Blazers in the overall fifth pick.

Malone went on to play for various teams during his 21 years long NBA career. He played the longest for Houston Rockets for 6 years since 1976.

The top teams he played for are the Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Bullets, San Antonio Spurs, and others. He retired from basketball in the year 1995. He played a total of 1455 matches in which he held an average of 20.3 PPG, 12.3 RPG, and 1.3 APG.

Moses Malone was born Moses Eugene Malone on March 25, 1955, to his mother, Mary in Petersburg, Virginia, USA. However, he never disclosed anything about his father publicly. Mary single-parented Malone.

He attended Petersburg High School in his hometown, Petersburg. There he played for his school basketball, Crimson Wave. Even at the age of 12, he already stood at a towering height of over feet. This is the reason he had no difficulty being selected for the school basketball team. 

The team was undefeated and even won Virginia States Championship. He was first drafted by ABA in 1974 in the third round. He was chosen by Utah Stars. 

Malone's Family: Wife

Moses Malone had a family that included his wife, and children. He was married twice, first to Alfreda Malone with whom he had three children, and later to Mary Malone, with whom he had two children. 

Moses was a dedicated father and spent much of his time with his family, even during his busy basketball career. His children followed in his footsteps, with his son, Moses Malone Jr., playing basketball professionally.

Malone's Children

Moses Malone had a total of five children, three from his first marriage to Alfreda Malone and two from his second marriage to Mary Malone. His oldest child, Michael Malone, was born on December 21, 1982.

His second child, Moses Eugene Malone Jr., was born on October 15, 1984, and followed in his father's footsteps as a basketball player, playing professionally for several years. Malone Jr. is also known for his work as a motivational speaker and community activist.

Malone's third child, Latasha Malone, was born on September 7, 1986. Not much is publicly known about her, and she has largely remained out of the public eye.

From his second marriage to Mary Malone, Moses had two children, a son named Micah Malone who was born in 1995, and a daughter named Maya Malone who was born in 1998.
