After getting drafted by the Anaheim Ducks, Max signed a three-year entry-level deal with the Ducks on March 3, 2018. On October 3, 2018, Comtois made his NHL debut in the Ducks' 2018-19 season opener in San Jose. His first goal came against goaltender Martin Jones.
