Later on, he got drafted for the Hofstra University by the New York Mets. On June 24, 1970, at the age of 23, he made his major league debut by playing with New York Mets. He played with Mets from 1970 to 1971.

From 1972 to 1974, he played for Baltimore Orioles. He spent the majority of his career with the Baltimore Orioles. He played with the team from 1975 to 1984. His MLB Stats are -Batting average (.282), Hits (2029), Home runs (246), and Runs batted in (1,065).
