Zucker went to the University of Denver, and after finishing his career there, his NHL career started. The Minnesota Wild drafted him in the 2nd round with the 59th overall pick of the 2010 NHL Draft. On March 29, 2012, Zucker made his NHL debut by playing against the Florida Panthers.

In total, Zucker played in 456 NHL games with Minnesota. In those games, he had 132 goals, 111 assists, and 243 points. After that, Zucker was traded by the Wild to the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 10, 2020, in exchange for two players, Alex Galchenyuk and Calen Addison.
