Greg Louganis was born as Gregory Efthimios "Greg" Louganis on 29 January 1960, in El Cajon, California, the United States. He is of Samoan and Swedish ancestry. Later, in 1983, he transferred to University of California, Irvine. He graduated in Drama and Dance. He bagged many gold medals throughout his professional career. He has a 4 gold and 1 silver in Olympics. In World Championships, he was outstanding, he earned 5 gold medals. He also showed his excellence in Pan American Games, he bagged 6 gold. He also had two gold from Summer Universiade.
He was the last American to win the gold medal for America until David Boudia won in 2016. He also appeared with Matthew Mitcham in the final of the reality show, Celebrity Splash.
Coming into his private bio, his personal life is not as perfect as his career. In the Year 1995, he admitted that he is a homosexual and HIV positive. In spite being HIV positive, he used to motivate others which made him popular, he also released a book entitled “Breaking the Surface”. In the book, he has mentioned his life journey and his success towards the Olympic success.
He also made his appearance in the movies and television programs. He also proves himself as a successful coach. From last 5 years, he is the coach of wide ranges of ages and abilities in the SoCal Divers Club in Fullerton, California. He also worked as an advisor and counselor to the US diving team at the London 2012 Olympics. He had married to his partner Johnny Chaillot. They are very happy in their married life. Louganis is currently married to Johnny Chaillot since 2013. The ceremony was held at Geoffrey’s in Malibu. They had been dating each other since 2012.
