Gisela Meyer

Gisela Meyer is a well-known volleyball and wakeboard coach as well as an entrepreneur with her own fitness program. She rose to prominence as the daughter of Urban Meyer, an American football coach who most recently directed the National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL).

Gigi Meyer, aka Gisela Meyer, became well-known for standing by her father during his controversy, and she set a beautiful example as a wonderful daughter and strong lady.

Relationship, Married Life

Gigi is a married woman living a happy married life with her husband, Brian Pruett. They exchanged their wedding vows on February 8, 2020. The duo attended the same university and were in a long-term relationship before tying the knot. The couple took their vows in the presence of their parents, close friends, and a few relatives. 

The couple does not have any children to date but Gisela posted a video of her revealing her positive pregnancy test on February 18, 2023. The couple will soon announce themselves as parents.

Brian Pruett used to be a Baseball player in his college days and is NASM certified PT and coach now.

Gisela has a tall, slim body. She has a height of 5 feet 7 inches (170 cm), with the body measurements of her chest, waist, and hip rounding up to be 32-28-34 inches, respectively and she has maintained a body weight of 55 Kg (121 lbs).

Family

Gisela Meyer was born on March 26, 1993, to Urban Meyer and Shelley Meyer in the United States as their youngest daughter and middle child.  Gisela is of white ancestry and of American nationality. She belongs to a Christian family and her star sign is Aries.

Gisela completed her high school studies at Buchholz High School and then went on to Florida Gulf Coast University, where she graduated in Mass Communication. 

Gisela has two siblings, Nathan Meyer, and Nicole Meyer. Urban Meyer is in the Jackson Ville Jaguars as the head coach. Meyer is working as Assistant Athletic Director at Ohio State University. Apart from that, he works as an analyst for Fox Sports’ pre-game show “Big Noon Kickoff.”

Gisela’s mother, Shelley Meyer, was a nursing student at the University of Cincinnati, where she met Gisela’s dad. Her eldest sister Nicole Meyer (aka Nicky Meyer), is a famous volleyball player. She was a  volleyball player at Georgia Tech. Nicole has two sons, Troy and Gray with her husband, Corey.

Gisela’s youngest brother Nathan Meyer follows in his father’s footsteps as a football player at the University of Cincinnati.

Family Controversy

Gisela's father Urban Meyer became controversial when a video of him was released in a hot water tub with a very young woman. The surprise to everyone she was not his wife. It was also reported that he touched the lady in an inappropriate way, raising many suspicions regarding his character. 

But, Gisela and her family always supported Urban and voiced out their opinions on his defense gaining much attention from netizens. On this Gisela said that she knows her father and he is the most amazing and incredible person. 

Gisela also mentioned that everyone makes mistakes, and his father committed the mistake for which her father has already apologized, and their family has already moved on.

Career in Volleyball 

Gisela and her siblings were attracted to and interested in sports since childhood, maybe owing to Urban's influence. Gisela loved volleyball and was a part of the first FGCU sand volleyball team. Subsequently, in 2012, she was chosen as an A-Sun Preseason All-Conference player.

Gisela was named the Atlantic Sun Setter of the Year during her senior year. She led the conference with 11.57 assists per set as FGCU finished second in the A-Sun with a 19-11 record.

She appeared in 125 games for FGCU. She surpassed the school record for assists with 4,363. She was named Academic All-Conference honoree twice.

Even after her graduation, she wanted to continue her volleyball career so she continued as a coach, following in the footsteps of her father.

Gisela's Career in Wakeboarding

Despite her great reputation in volleyball, Gisela earned huge popularity from wakeboarding too which was just a passion that she started at the age of 10.

Gisela has secured the Women’s A title at the NCAA wakeboarding championships in Shreveport, Los Angeles; by defeating Shawna Hoffman. She had also participated in other wakeboarding games and won most of them.

Gisela really impresses everyone with her excellent volleyball and wakeboarding skills. But, she admits that it was difficult for her to manage both volleyball and wakeboarding together. For now, she is keener into Volleyball but hasn't stopped doing wakeboarding either.
