A Baylor School graduate skipped his collegiate career (initially committed to the University of South Carolina). He was picked by the Tampa Bay Rays with the 34th overall selection of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft.
Kennesaw, Georgia native, Cooper Kinney was born on 27th January 2003, under the star sign Leo. He is the son of Lori Ann Kinney and Mike Kinney. Also, he has a sister named Elli Kinney.
Cooper Kinney enrolled at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. There he played baseball under his father Mike. During his junior season, he batted .396 with five home runs in 2019.
As a senior, he hit .480 with ten home runs and fifty RBIs in 2021. Further, he was named the Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year. For his collegiate career, he committed to the University of South Carolina.
