Bernard King is an American former professional basketball player who played for the New Jersey Nets, Utah Jazz, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, and Washington Bullets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Bernard played under jersey numbers 30 and 22 in the NBA, and his jersey number 53 was retired by his college Tennessee Men's Basketball Team.

Bernard is the son of Thelma King and Thomas King. Bernard King was born on December 4, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. King grew up along with his five brothers; one of them, named Albert King, also played in the NBA.
