He belongs to an African ethnicity and holds an American nationality. He was born to Delorise Omon and Chris Nwagbuo. He had two siblings Demetrius Omon and Effiong Omon. Unfortunately, both of them died when Xavier was a child. He also later discovered about his half-brother Ogemdi Nwagbuo.
Omon was engaged in football from a very young age. He played from the Beatrice (NE) during his high school days. He did his college from Northwest Missouri State University where he played football as the member of the college. His professional career started in 2008 where began to play in the National Football League (NFL). He plays in the position of running back in his games. The first contract was signed with Buffalo Bills (2008-2009). Later, he shifted to various other football teams such as Seattle Seahawks (2009-2010), New York Jets (2010), San Francisco 49ers (2010-2011), Cleveland Browns (2011) and Denver Broncos (2011-2012). He has won various awards and achievements during his player life. The footballer retired in 2012.
