Mike Knoxville Hettinga is an American professional wrestler born on July 17, 1978. He was born in San Bernardino, California, United States. He currently lives in Tampa, Florida, United States. His nationality is American and belongs to the white ethnic background. He is better known by his ring name Mike Knox in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He has also worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) under the ring name Knox.
EARLY LIFE AND CAREER
Knox has started his career as a wrestler for Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) in 2000. He got the training from Navajo Warrior. He tagged with Samoa Joe at UPW in the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, California and defeated Al Katrazz and Basil.
He signed a developmental contract making handful appearances on WWE in 2005. Before that he wrestled for the Atlanta, Georgia-based developmental territory, Deep South Wrestling. He made his debut performance on the July 20, 2006, episode of ECW. There he interfered as a heel in Kelly Kelly's striptease segment, coming from the backstage area, covering her with a towel before escorting her off stage.
Knox and Derek Neikirk reformed the Team Elite on March 1 and were booked to win the Tag Team Championship after defeating the Major Brothers. He then moved to WWE's Florida-Based territory Florida Championship Wrestling after DSW closed.
Knox made his debut for TNA competing in a dark match against the Television Champion, Devon. He made his television debut on January 3, 2013. It was one of the most remarkable episodes of Impact Wrestling where he became a member of the villainous group, Ace, and Eights. He has played various other matches with the professional wrestlers during his time in TNA.
He has won APWA Hardcore Cup Championship for 1 time and APWA Tag Team Championship for 1 time with D.O.C in American Pro Wrestling Alliance. He is a one time winner of DSW Tag Team Championship with Derek Neikirk in Deep South Wrestling.
He has achieved many other titles in his playing career. It includes Heavyweight Championship for 2 times and Tag Team Championship for 1 time (with Derek Neikirk) in Impact Zone Wrestling. He has also won Tag Team Championship for 1 time with D.O.C in River City Wrestling and Heavyweight Championship for 1 time in Western States Wrestling. Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked him as #87 of the top 500 singles.
