SYNOPSIS
James Hinchcliffe is a racecar driver who is currently competing in the IndyCar Series with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports. He was born on December 5, 1986, in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. He is a Canadian racer who belongs to the white ethnic background. He is a son of Arlene Hinchcliffe (his mother) and Jeremy Hinchcliffe (his father). He has a brother named Christopher Hinchcliffe and a sister named Rebecca Hinchcliffe.
EARLY LIFE AND CAREER
He attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario after completing his high school education. He started his open-wheel career in karting and began car racing in 2003. He finished becoming third in Bridgestone Racing Academy F2000 series. He became the top rookie in Formula BMW USA 2004, winning three races.
He raced in the Star Mazda Series in 2005, finishing third overall with three wins and moved to the Champ Car Atlantic Series with Forsythe Racing in 2006. He has won one race at Portland and scored two other podiums, but was only able to finish 10th in the overall standings.
He then moved to A1 Grand Prix joining A1 Team Canada. He finished the sprint race becoming 8th and became 13th in his first race at Zandvoort. He once again raced in the Champ Car Atlantic Series in 2007 with Sierra Sierra team and finished fourth in points without a win.
James signed a contract with Newman/Haas Racing in April 2011. There he competed in the remaining season of 2011 IndyCar Series. He struggled in both races of the Firestone Twin 275s held in Texas and finished becoming 20th and 19th respectively.
He put his step into the Andretti Autosport as the driver of the GoDaddy on January 10, 2012, replacing Danica Patrick. He has played with Andretti Autosport for two years. He then joined Schmidt Peterson Motorsports on October 7, 2014. He has won his first race with the team in the second race of the year held in New Orleans.

On August 30, 2016, he became one of the celebrities competing on the 23rd season of Dancing with the Stars with pro dancer Sharna Burgess. He also appeared featuring IndyCar drivers competing against swimsuit models on an episode of Celebrity Family Feud.
