Boaz Myhill was raised near the England-Wales border and attended the Marches School, in Oswestry. There he played youth football as a midfielder for Oswestry Boys Club. After gaining several years’ experience in football, he made a professional career debut with Aston Villa at the age of 12 in November 2000. However, he was signed by Stoke City on a one-month loan, to provide backup for their first choice goalkeeper.
